Texas towers & Inner Bore Welding

We are continually upgrading manufacturing technology and Villa & Bonaldi is able to weld the tubes to the back face of the tubesheet using the Inner Bore Welding (IBW) technique in horizontal position.

Tubes-to-Tubesheet welding is carried out by Automatic and Computerised Welding Gun designed by our experienced personnel. Each single Tubes-to-Tubesheet weld is Helium leak tested, visual inspected and recorded before proceeding with the subsequent welding.

Villa & Bonaldi has long tradition of supplying vertical Texas towers which are normally supplied in low-alloy steels material (2 1/4 Cr - 1 Mo, 1 1/4 Cr - 1/2 Mo) and Carbon Steel. For the last two units (photos above) we used the following materials: * Shell and Hot section - Stainless steel * Cold section - Carbon steel * Tubesheets and No.4500 Exchanger Tubes - Stainless steel welded with IBW technique.
