| MANUFACTURING STEPS - Semi-finished products
such as plates, forgings and tubes are purchased by Villa & Bonaldi
from selected and qualified suppliers. The entire production cycle is performed by the company on its own premises. Cutting and rolling machines are used for preparation of the plates. Computerised Machining Centres are used to turn forgings and drill tubesheets. Villa & Bonaldi's welding equipment, procedures and staff are qualified and skilled to handle all normally treated materials such as carbon steel, killed carbon steel for low temperatures, low alloy steel, medium alloy steel, austenitic, ferritic and duplex / super duplex stainless steel, cladded steel, copper alloys, nickel alloys and titanium. |

Clean room for titanium welding | Bolt tightening equipment |
| Villa & Bonaldi has the up to date equipment
for manual and automatic welding, as well as for pre- and post-heating operations. The
Company has perfected the skill of making faultless weld deposits starting
from wire under gas and strip under flux. The construction of the tube bundle is closely followed at each and every step. Tubesheets and baffles are always in compliance with strictly defined and stringently controlled tolerances. "U" hairpins are produced in a special workshop equipped with a bending system capable of complying with standards even for small radiuses. The workshop has also the facilities for stress relieving and solution annealing of "U" tubes. Tubes are fixed to tubesheets utilising two methods: expanding and welding. In expanding, the force is controlled electronically and the calibration continuously monitored. Welding is performed either manually or by computerised guns including IBW (Inner Bore Welding) to join the tubes to the back face of the tubesheets. |
